About the Company

The performance company at OYSP is an award-winning group of talented singers, dancers and actors. There are two different companies: musical theater company and dance company. Our company members participate in both regional and national competitions as well as other OYSP shows and events. The OYSP company has won numerous awards including the prestigious Broadway Cup at the 2004 Access Broadway Nationals in Orlando, Florida. Alumni of this program have gone on to study in some of the top musical theater and dance programs in the country and some have gone on to work professionally.

We also have a pre-company program which is a training ground for future members. This program allows company hopefuls an opportunity to take classes with other students with the same goals.

Auditions for the company are in May each season. Musical Theater candidates must sing a one minute song, plus perform a small choreographed routine.

Dance company candidates must attend our auditions within their age group where they will be taught a Jazz, Tap and Ballet combination.

Company members must be committed for an entire year (August to August) and are expected to attend all classes and rehearsals.
